The staff of Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199), the next project in the Space Battleship Yamato remake, unveiled a new trailer and visual for the second film, “Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki” (The Assault of the Burning Sun) on Friday.

The second film will open on November 22, and participating theaters will offer a special limited edition Blu-ray Disc of the film during its screening. It will then be released on Blu-ray and DVD at retail on January 29.

“Kuro no Shinryaku”(Dark Invasion), the first film of Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199), the follow-up project to the Space Battleship Yamato remake, opened on July 19. The film earned 58,863,050 yen (about US$385,100) in its first three days of release.
The anime will premiere in seven episodes.

The new cast of the new film includes:
Naomichi Yamato (From the New World episode director, Mobile Suit Gunma: Iron-Blooded Orphans) is directing the new anime, with Harutoshi Fukui now also credited as supervising director along with serving as series writer and chief writer as in the previous anime in the series. Hideki Oka will also return as co-scriptwriter. Nobuteru Yuki will return as character designer. Junichirō Tamamori, Mika Akitaka, and Yasushi Ishizu are credited as mechanical designers. Hiroyuki Goto is the CG producer, while Shōsuke Uechi is credited as CG director. Tomohiro Yoshida is the sound director.
As with previous anime in the series, the late producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki is credited for the original work, and his son Shōji Nishizaki is credited as executive producer and copyright supervisor. Akira Miyagawa will return to compose the music alongside Shu Kanematsu (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses). Akira Miyagawa's late father and original Space Battleship Yamato composer Hiroshi Miyagawa is also credited for the music.
The new project is a sequel to Uchū Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi-Kōshō-STASHA-(Space Battleship Yamato 2205): The Movie The New Voyage Part II: Stasha), which will premiere in February 2022.
Yamato yo Towa ni (Be Forever Yamato) is also the title of the 1980 sequel film to the original Yamato anime project. The story of the 1980 film is not set in the year 3199, but the story of the original 2004 video anime series Dai Yamato Zero-go is set in that year.
