The winner receives 500,000 yen, and the work is adapted into a serialized manga

Echoes, Bandai, and Bandai Namco Filmworks vertical scrolling manga brand and service Bandana Comic and Japanese novel website Shōsetsuka ni Narō launched”Bandana Comic Tate Scroll Manga Gensaku Taisho: Mecha, Robot-“new hen”(Award Bonus original vertical scrolling Manga Bandana Comic: Mecha, Robot Edition) on Friday.
Echoes, Bandai and Bandai Namco Filmworks formed a new business venture for a vertical scrolling manga brand and service called Bandana Comic in February 2023. The service launched last month.
This is the first competition for the new service. The contest looks for creative and novel works. The jury includes Naohiro Ogata (executive producer Mobile Suit: The Witch From Mercury), Ken Ōkawara (executive producer Ghost in the Shell Arise), Yoshitaka Kawaguchi (executive producer Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion), Osamu Serita (Birdie Wing-Golf Girls)'Story-commercial), Noriaki Tanaka (executive producer Love Live! Superstar!!), Osamu Taniguchi (producer Mobile Suit Gun: The Origin), Hideyuki Murata (producer producer RWBY: Ice Queendom) and Atsushi Yukawa (Girls und Panzer der Film chief producer).
The contest is open to both professionals and amateurs, and the type of work is not important, as long as the main story has mechs and/or robots.
The winner will receive 500,000 yen (about US$3,200) and their work will be turned into a serialized manga. The runner-up will receive 200,000 yen (about 1,300 USD) and their work becomes a one-time work. Jury winners will receive 50,000 yen (about 320 USD). The deadline for submission is August 30 and the winner will be announced at the end of November.
