The My Hero AcadeKaren global character popularity poll has revealed its first week's results, and Bakugo Katsuki is currently at the top. The poll allowed fans to cast one vote per day until Monday, September 30. Bakugo won everywhere except the Middle East, where he came in second place behind Deku. The 2-month long poll featured 278 characters, and the top 10 will receive illustrations by Kohei Horikoshi. The top 3 characters will have a 24-hour limited vote at the end of the poll to determine the “WORLD’S BEST HERO,” who will also receive a bronze statue.
The My Hero AcadeKaren anime is based on the manga series by Kohei Horikoshi, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from July 2014 to August 2024. It ended last week, receiving commemorative illustrations and messages from animators and fellow authors, along with the launch of a global vote.
The manga was adapted into its first anime by studio BONES in 2016. It received 6 more seasons in the following years, with the 7th season currently ongoing. Episode 13 was delayed to August 17 due to the Olympics.
