Attack On Titan’s unexpected twists keep viewers on the edge of their seats with unexpected revelations that shape the entire series. The show’s expert foreshadowing adds depth and complexity, with subtle hints and details serving larger purposes. Breathtaking animation and impeccable visuals, accompanied by an incredible soundtrack, took the show to the next level and created a wonderful experience for the viewers.
Attack the giant finally ends, and the ending solidifies it as one of the best anime series ever made. Offering something for almost every type of anime fan, Attack On Titan is an undisputed masterpiece and Hajime Isayama’s legacy will forever be remembered for it.
The anime adaptation of Isayama’s dark action manga began airing in 2013 and has been at the forefront of the genre’s growing popularity in the West. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Attack On Titan does not have a unique setting. Many anime and shows deal with the fight for survival, but as the series continues, fans gradually understand what makes the world of Attack on Titan different from the rest.
How Attack On Titan’s plot twists shape the series
Created by WIT Studio and Mappa, based on the original manga by Hajime Isayama
No other anime has a twisted plot like Attack On Titan. Nothing in Attack on Titan is surprising or meaningless, and the film always leaves viewers with little hints about the twists to come. One of the biggest twists in Attack on Titan was the reveal that Reiner and Bertholdt were the villains. Both are indispensable members of the Scouts and are like family to Eren and the rest of the members. What makes their betrayal even more surprising is the timing. The Scouts are celebrating and suddenly, Reiner reveals himself as a traitor. Even Eren was extremely shocked and thought Reiner was going crazy. This moment isn’t just a plot twist – it’s series-defining.
Season 4 has a similarly wild plot. Zeke and Eren are reviewing memories in hopes that Eren will agree with Zeke’s plan. Memory after memory, it seemed like Zeke was in control, but that all changed when Grisha Yeager’s darkest moments were finally revealed. Eren influenced the past using the Path and convinced his father to kill Royal Fritz’s family. Zeke had believed that Eren had been brainwashed by Grisha like he was, but discovering otherwise devastated him. Eren was always the villain, not his father. What hurt Zeke more was that Grisha could feel his presence and apologized for everything he had done.
It’s clear that Isayama is a master at surprising fans when Eren is eaten by a Titan at the beginning of the series. That scene shocked viewers to their core, but the series has proven time and time again that it can do better. From Annie’s revelation as the Female Titan, the Titans inside the wall, to the discovery of life beyond the wall – there are so many bombshells that no one could have theorized or seen coming . The author’s excellent writing style has made suspense the most common emotion when watching anime.
There are always subtle hints
The omen of the Titan attack expert
Foreshadowing is one of Hajime Isayama’s many talents. Only after a big reveal happens do fans realize that a small detail in that chapter served a larger purpose. In part 3, Eren is kidnapped by Rod Reiss, who wishes to regain the power of the Founding Titan. Eren is chained to a crystal cliff, and he says the cave is familiar after he wakes up. It was revealed much later that he was actually there when his future self convinced Grisha to kill the royal family in that very cave. These hints are included in scenes where the viewer’s attention is focused on something much larger that is brilliantly happening.
Throughout the show, there are quite a few moments that don’t make immediate sense to the viewer, such as Reiner surviving the Female Titan’s attack after taking off his hood and lunging at her. That extremely small detail explains a lot of things that confuse viewers. Since the Female Titan is killing the Scouts, Reiner wants her to know it’s him and not kill him. This worked and he secretly cut Eren’s location into her hands. It seems like everything has a reason and no scene is wasted.
Attractive animations and visuals attract viewers
Attack on Titan’s production values are always impeccable
The animation quality of Attack on Titan is unprecedented. Each scene is incredibly detailed and it’s easy to see that a lot of effort was put into it. The first 3 seasons were animated by WIT Studio, which boosted the studio and helped them acquire animation rights to series such as Vinland Saga and Suicide Squad Isekai. Character movements are fluid, combat is dynamic, the art style is gorgeous, and the visuals are aesthetically pleasing. Fans were devastated when it was announced that Mappa would be taking over the production, but season 4 is proving to be just as good.
The show is taken to an even higher level by the music and sound design that perfectly complements the animation. Each theme song is carefully placed to suit whatever emotion the scene evokes. What makes Reiner’s betrayal even more amazing is the epic soundtrack, which is hailed as the best OST in the anime. Mappa then recruited extremely talented composer, Kohta Yamamoto, who created the incredible hype track “Ashes On The Fire” that made fans want to scream Shinzo Wa Sasageyo!!. The opening and ending songs are both unforgettable, fitting the series’ ominous plot.
The anime “Attack on Titan” is finally coming to its final episode. For the past four years, I have faced this project every day, “Fight…Fight…”
We put everything I could think of into this and I believe the final cut is just a compilation of all our passion.
Isayama-sensei’s new script, the actors’ soulful performances,
The most perfect music.
Experience all of this!

An incredible set of characters
While Eren is the main character, there are many instances where he has the spotlight stolen by other characters. Attack On Titan is the only anime that has supporting characters fighting for screen time, and it’s actually been received positively. The show makes sure everyone gets their time to shine: Historia establishes herself as trustworthy, Mikasa brutally takes down dozens of Titans, and Levi comes to the rescue multiple times. Each character has equal depth and each has their own role. In fact, Levi is about to get his own Attack on Titan spin-off.
Attack on Titan also writes very well about female characters. The usual damsel in distress story doesn’t exist in the series. The women in the story are very powerful and play important roles throughout the story. Annie, Mikasa, Historia, Ymir, Hange, etc. are all good examples of female characters. There is also no sexualization in the series, which often hinders their character development and causes them not to be taken seriously.
Like anything else, Attack on Titan has its flaws. The controversial ending was the biggest complaint among fans. Although the program is good, it cannot avoid criticism. However, the amount of things it gets far outweighs its pitfalls. From its dedicated staff to its creators, there are many people to thank and Attack the giant is sure to inspire the next generation of anime and manga for decades to come.
It’s been 10 years since the TV anime started. Thank you very much for sticking with us all this time. The climax scene that occurs in the second half of the final season was also very difficult to draw in the original manga, so I couldn’t help but think, “This will be difficult for MAPPA. MAPPA is probably thinking, ‘Please stop’. I’m sorry, MAPPA. I am really sorry.” Even then, I’m still excited to see how it plays out in the anime.
