The production team of the anime series Atarashii Joushi wa Do Tennen has released a new character PV trailer for Yuusei Hirosaki’s pet cat Hakutou (voiced by Hiro Shimono). The series will air around October 2023.
Shimono joins the main voice cast including Yuuichirou Umehara as Yuusei Hirosaki, Koutarou Nishiyama as Kentaro Momose, Tomokazu Sugita as Mitsuo Aoyama and Jun Fukuyama as Aigo Kinjou.

Noriyuki Abe (GTO, Boruto animation supervisor) will direct the anime, with Masahiro Yokotani (The Devil Is a Part-Timer!!) writing the series, Kyoukou Yasuda (Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku) is the character designer and animation director, and Masato Nakayama (We Never Learn: Bokuben) is the composer. A-1 Pictures is the animation production company for the series.
The anime series is based on the manga by Dan Ichikawa, which began as a webcomic on Twitter in 2018. It was later serialized on Akita Shoten’s Manga Cross website on February 5, 2019, and published under name Young Champions Imprint comic. Two tankoubon volumes have been released as of May 2020.
The manga won several awards, including pixiv and Nippon Shuppan Hanbai’s “Web Manga General Election” in 2019. It also placed seventh in the web category of the fifth Next Manga Award that same year and placed third in the 2020 Tsutaya Manga Awards. It also placed second in AnimeJapan’s “Manga We Want to See Animated” poll.
