Summary
Ash can create an even stronger team with his existing Pokémon, in addition to what he caught during the Journey. Ash’s roster has potential with Pokémon like Charizard, Gengar, Dragonite, Greninja, and Snorlax, each with unique powers and abilities. Optimal team combinations offer a combination of attackers and defender Pokémon with diverse moves, making it difficult for opponents to predict and counterattack.
Ash Ketchum achieved the title of World Champion with Pokémon The Journey Team, making it one of the strongest teams he has ever assembled. However, could Ash create an even stronger team using only the Pokémon he obtained in the anime?
Ash’s Journey Party only uses Pokémon he has recently caught, other than Pikachu, and does not tap into the reserves he has accumulated over many years of traveling around the Pokémon world. Ash has captured many powerful Pokémon in the past, which could have made him a good member of this team, but ultimately did not make the official roster of the series. With 78 Pokémon in Ash’s collection by the end of the series, Ash can certainly make an even stronger team than his Journeys team has proven to be.
This would also take into account some abilities that Ash never had, which could make some of his Pokémon even stronger than they already are, showing the potential his permanent squad has.
7 Charizard is one of Ash’s oldest allies
First episode: Charmander — Stray Pokémon
Many fans wanted to see Ash’s Charizard return to the anime in Journey, and it certainly earned a spot on any list of Ash’s strongest Pokémon. Charizard’s inclusion in Ash’s ultimate team is almost mandatory, and Charizard certainly still has room to grow–Ash has never used Charizard’s Mega or Gigantamax forms, which grant some incredible powers .
Charizard’s powerful fire attacks have helped it win many battles, and Ash’s Charizard is shown to have a variety of moves, allowing it to have good coverage to handle unexpected opponents.. Mega Evolved Charizard can be used to further increase its power in Mega Charizard Y form or mitigate some of its weaknesses by entering Dragon into Mega Charizard X. Ash’s bond with Charizard is certainly strong enough to Use these powerful transformations and they can turn Charizard into a powerful ace in the hole.
6 Gengar’s unique typing style makes it essential
First episode: Best friend… Worst nightmare!
Gengar is the only Ghost-type Pokémon Ash has ever caught, and Ghost is a very useful type to have access to, with strength against Psychic-types and other Ghost-types as well as complete immunity to Normal-type damage . Ash’s Gengar has access to a Gigantamax transformation, giving it the ability to use powerful Max moves in battle for three turns, but he has never used its Mega form.
Gengar proved itself to be highly capable in the Masters Eight tournament, where it used moves from a variety of different types to help cover up its weaknesses, such as Dazzling Gleam. Gengar is known to be a bit squishy, but its G-max transformation helps with that by increasing its health significantly. Gengar is best served as a counter-attacker, waiting for the opportunity. to take down your opponent’s powerful Psychic-type and will have no trouble overcoming many such opponents.
5 Dragonite is one of Ash’s strongest
First episode: Challenge in paradise!
Ash’s Dragonite is unusual in that he captures it as a Dragonite, rather than evolving it, which means he has full power from the moment he captures it. Although it has no alternate form to use, Dragonite’s signature move, Draco Meteor, is an extremely powerful attack and Ash was able to use it both offensively and defensively. Ash’s Dragonite also knows Dragon Dance, a technique that greatly increases speed and attack power.
Dragonite has four real weaknesses, which are Dragon, Ice, Rock, and Fairy-type moves, but is resistant to a large number of types, including Electric, Water, Fire, Ground, Grass, Fighting Fighting and Bugs. This makes Dragonite a fairly safe “switch” Pokémon, allows Ash to eliminate another Pokémon in a bad elimination match and replace them with the powerful Dragonite. It’s an important role on a team, and Dragonite has the power to fill it well.
4 Greninja’s speed makes it a must-have
First episode: Pursuit of Lumiose City!
Greninja is a Pokémon with whom Ash has an extremely strong bond, to the point that Greninja can access unique powers, known as the Link Phenomenon, to transform into a special form. In this form, it is much stronger, making the so-called “Ash-Greninja” a serious threat to his opponents in the Pokémon XY series. Additionally, Greninja’s greatest asset is its speed—it’s one of the fastest Pokémon Ash has. Unfortunately, Greninja remained in Kalos, so Ash did not have access to Masters Eight.
Greninja fulfills Ash’s need for Water and Dark-type Pokémon. The moves that Ash’s Greninja knows are mainly Water-type, so it’s better to diversify its move set more, such as choosing Night Slash as a good Dark-type move. With Double Team, Greninja becomes extremely difficult to attackand that, combined with its speed, allows it to really attack opponents without much risk.
3 Snorlax provides a much-needed tank
First episode: Snack attack
Snorlax is an underrated Pokémon in Ash’s squad. Many of the other members of this team aren’t particularly bulky, but Snorlax boasts extraordinary defense and a high HP stat. It hasn’t been used in quite some time and there are new mechanics, such as the exclusive Z-Move (Crushed Pancakes) and Gigantamax form, that Snorlax can apply to execute strategies strong.
Snorlax has only one weakness: Fighting-type moves, while being completely immune to Ghost-type attacks and neutral to everything else. Since Snorlax hasn’t been around for a long time, there will definitely be a new move for it. Ice-Punch and Body Slam are still good options, as the latter carries a risk of paralysis. If using Z-Move, Body Slam might be better replaced with Giga Impact. Rest can help Snorlax recover, making it very difficult for opponents to defeat.
2 Pikachu is Ash’s loyal friend to the end
First episode: Pokémon — I Choose You!
Of course, Ash must have Pikachu on his team. He rarely fights without Pikachu in full team battles. Ash’s Pikachu is known for his exceptionally powerful Electric attacks, surpassing those of other Pikachu and even many other Electric types. Ash’s Pikachu has been shown to have access to Gigantamax form and Z-move, giving it that option if Ash decides to use it. Besides, Pikachu is also quite fast and its small size helps it have better evasion ability.
Pikachu is Ash’s key to victory in Masters Eight. While Pikachu’s moves may not be great in the game, Ash can still use its attacks, especially Electroweb, in unique ways that deserve to be included.. Iron Tail gives Pikachu a powerful non-electric attack, allowing it to deal with opponents that can withstand its electricity. However, it may work better than Quick Attack; an Elven-type move like Play Rough might help even more. A combat-style attack like Brick Break can also help boost team coverage.
1 Ash’s ultimate team can have multiple stars
Many of Ash’s strongest Pokémon act as powerful attackers rather than defensive types, which can make team building a bit difficult. There are certainly some other Pokémon, such as his Sceptile, that could work well in an “ultimate” team, but placing too many of these types of Pokémon can unbalance the entire team. The above group gives Ash a decent mix of bulky Pokémon (Dragonite, Snorlax) with faster, squishy Pokémon (Pikachu, Gengar, and Greninja) that can deal a lot of damage.
The team includes 9 of the 18 possible types, and each Pokémon has a diverse moveset designed to overcome its weaknesses. It also gives Ash a lot of options – many of these Pokémon have Z moves, Gigantamaxing or Mega Evolution abilities, making it difficult to predict exactly who will get which power. These factors will make Ash an even wilder card than it already is and force opponents to make guesses or assumptions that could lead to disaster. Ash’s strongest possible team in Pokémon Made up of both fan favorites and utility options, ensuring that any battle will be entertaining.
