Ash meets mythical Pokémon usually reserved for Pokémon films, as their rarity makes appearances a major event. However, Ash’s travels in the main anime have also brought him to encounter many Mythical Pokémon since he captured Meltan in Alola. Crucially, though, that encounter is over, Meltan isn’t actually the first Mythical Ash befriended in the main Pokémon animated series.
During the Black and White era of anime, near the end of the first season, Ash encountered an unusual Pokémon at the PokéStar Studios lot, which he saved from a falling piece of wood. It disappeared before he could say anything to it, and Ash continued his day. However, the Pokémon was intrigued and began to follow him, eventually its presence becoming known at the beginning of the second season. This Pokémon turns out to be Meloetta, a Mythic in the game Black and White, and it is revealed that Team Rocket is trying to capture this powerful Pokémon. As a result, Meloetta ends up traveling with Ash in about a dozen episodes.
Meloetta’s Mythical Performance
Due to its presence in the anime series, Meloetta is one of the few mythical Pokémon that does not have a movie dedicated to it, unlike the legendary Pokémon Unova Victini, Genesect, and Keldeo, although Meloetta does appear in the series. a short film about Pikachu earlier. Film Keldeo in Japan. In the anime storyline, Meloetta protects an object known as the Reveal Glass, an item capable of transforming the legendary Pokémon Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus into their Therian forms, which is what Team Rocket really wants. Team Rocket’s boss, Giovanni, even personally went out to oversee the operation, and he (along with the others) was nearly killed when he was possessed and the Legendary Pokémon ran wild and fought together. Meloetta finally appeases them with her song, and they return to their normal state, ending the crisis.
Of course, the uncaught Pokémon had traveled with Ash and friends before, but never was it a rare Pokémon like Meloetta. Ash actually also fights Meloetta at one point in this installment, and it looks like he might be able to catch it until they are interrupted. Meloetta is shy, and although she is quite fond of Ash, Ash’s Oshawott is also enamored with her. Meloetta even got the chance to see some of Ash’s old friends again, when Dawn reappeared while it was traveling with him. When Team Rocket no longer pursued Meloetta, it chose to return to its homeland, a secret village inhabited by the descendants of the original Reveal Glass possessors.
Adding Meloetta to the team is definitely an interesting twist, and episodes with Meloetta around are automatically a bit more interesting due to its presence. While some may be disappointed, Meloetta did not get to star with Ash in a movie. Pokémon movie, With Meloetta’s pop star look and feel, this is probably a much better use for Mythical Pokémon.
