During the years of Pokémon anime, Ash has been traveling with a lot of girls, and quite a few of them develop feelings for him along the way. While many fans might think back to the companion they saw with the first Ash, it’s an interesting question: which companion is the best match for Ash?
This list looks at the female protagonists of the Pokémon anime to decide which girl Ash has the best relationship with. Despite relatively little interest on Ash’s part, these girls have been a bit more open about their feelings for him, and as a result they make up the bulk of the rankings. Some of these relationships are more romantically coded than others, but all of them are Ash’s strongest friendships.
Lily
Lillie is a character introduced in Sun & Moon, a member of Ash’s Pokémon School class based on the video game Lillie from the Sun and Moon. Lillie is a cute girl who was afraid of Pokémon when she and Ash first met; Ash has helped her become more comfortable with Pokémon, to the point where Lillie finally has a Pokémon of her own—an Alolan Vulpix named Snowy. Lusamine’s daughter Lillie was heavily involved in the plot of Sun & Moon, and as a result spent quite a bit of time with Ash. In the end, she managed to become a talented fighter, which she felt was due to Ash’s influence. Lillie eventually leaves Alola at the end of the series, much like Ash, and it is seen that she recalls all of her good times with Ash in particular. It’s hard to tell if Lillie loves Ash, which is why she’s rated so low, but she definitely respects him, and wouldn’t be surprised if Lillie was revealed to be. affection for Pallet Town’s favorite trainer.
Dawn
Dawn is Ash’s main companion throughout Sinnoh, based on the female Pokémon player character Diamond and Pearl. It didn’t take long for Dawn to define herself as different from her predecessors, Misty and May; Dawn was much more willing to vent her anger when Ash’s Pikachu destroyed her bike. Dawn also has her own goal from the beginning: to be a good Coordinator just like her mother. Since Dawn and Ash both have strong visions of the future, they get along well for the most part. While Dawn and Ash have arguments, the two always support each other’s victories. Dawn even occasionally wears a cheerleader costume to cheer on Ash during his gym matches. Dawn is also often very concerned about her appearance when traveling with Ash, which shows that she is trying to look her best for him. In the end, however, Dawn and Ash are more of a sibling relationship than a romantic one, which is why she ranks at number 4.
Bianca
Bianca is an original character (not from the game) who primarily appeared in the fifth film, Pokémon Heroes: Latios & Latias. It’s a bit difficult to talk about Bianca, because at some point in the movie, she’s impersonated by a Latias, who also seems to have some feelings for Ash. Because of that, it’s hard to say how much Bianca cares about Ash, as it’s not always clear who’s doing what. Bianca and Ash worked together to protect Latias and save the city of Alto Mare from a pair of thieves, Annie and Oakley, who tried to gain control of the city’s defenses. Bianca and Ash grow closer throughout the adventure, and when it’s time to part, Bianca rushes to the docks and gives Ash an unexpected kiss. Is that Bianca, or is it Latias disguised as Bianca? It can’t be said, so Bianca can’t rank much higher than this.
fog
The OG Poké girl, Misty, is probably the one with the most screen time of Ash’s potential love interests. Misty makes it quite clear throughout the series, especially in English, that she has some degree of romantic interest in Ash, although Ash’s reciprocity is never quite so obvious. Misty tends to become jealous when other girls interact with Ash (e.g. Melody in Pokémon the Movie 2000). Misty’s Ash attraction elements were slightly exaggerated in the anime’s English dub, leaving Western fans with a much more “romantic” idea of a relationship than many fans. Japan. The English dub’s soundtrack even features a visual song for Misty talking about her feelings for Ash, making it a lot clearer. Whatever Misty’s feelings for Ash are, Ash doesn’t know anything about them, and even though Misty does return in the series’ final episodes, their relationship isn’t really that deep in any way. in any meaningful way.
serena
Serena is Ash’s companion throughout XY, but their relationship goes much further than that. Serena and Ash actually met when she attended a summer camp organized by Professor Oak, and Ash helped her when she was injured. Serena never forgot this, and was surprised to discover that Ash was the boy who had been helping her for so long. Unlike most of the girls on this list, Serena was clearly designed to be Ash’s lover. When Ash fell into a deep depression after losing to gym head Wulfric, Serena was there for him. Ash’s attitude of never giving up and always filled with enthusiasm is an inspiration to Serena, encouraging her to pursue her own dreams rather than following her mother’s. Serena gives Ash a second kiss before they part, as Serena travels to the Hoenn region to try her hand at the Pokémon Contest. As usual, Ash was a bit oblivious to Serena’s concern, but at least she made her feelings clear to him with that kiss.
While Serena certainly has the most proof that she’s Ash’s biggest crush, the fact of the matter is that Ash isn’t really a character built for romance, and her routine is series is to start him again in a fresh way. zone means his relationships can never really escalate to a more permanent level. With Ash’s time as the lead film now in the past, it’s safe to say that Ash won’t be mingling with anyone on screen, instead living freely in a never-ending life. Pokémon adventure.
