The Apothecary Diaries has released the Maomao and Jinshi versions of their weekly special web trailer. It features gentle and cute interactions between the two characters, nicknamed the unfriendly cat Maomao and the troublesome boss Jinshi. As the anime reaches its climax, the trailer looks back at some of Maomao and Jinshi’s most memorable moments together. Both also appear on the cover of the 15th volume of this novel.

In case you missed it, the anime released a special character trailer recounting the events of the series so far. These include special web trailers featuring Maomao, Jinshi and Gaoshun, as well as a Cat Day special. The clip inserting the song in episode 19 was also posted. TOHO Animation and OML are currently producing The Apothecary Diaries series, which is expected to have a total of 24 episodes.

Apothecary Diary Episode 22 – Maomao counterattacks
Apothecary’s Diary is a Japanese light novel series written by Lucy Hyuga and illustrated by Toko Shino. Shunfunotomo’s Hero Bunko is currently publishing the light novel series, J-Novel Club is publishing the English digital version, and Square Enix is publishing the novels in print.
The series also has two manga adaptations: the manga of the same name by Itsuki Nanao, illustrated by Nekokurage in Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan; and “Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Maomao no Kokyu Nazotoki Techo (The Apothecary Diaries: The Palace Cloister Mystery-The Notebook of Maomao)” by Minoji Kurata in Shogakukan’s Weekly Sunday Gene-X.
The anime is available on Netflix and Crunchyroll in select regions. Crunchyroll describes the plot:
Maomao lives a peaceful life with her medicine man father. Until one day, she was sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she has no intention of living a life of royal compliance. So when the royal heirs fell ill, she decided to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official, who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself by solving medical mysteries!
