Video statement by ANYCOLOR CEO Riku Tazumi, addressing several issues related to Nijisanji
In the six-minute video statement, Tazumi spoke entirely in English, detailing several aspects of some of Nijisanji’s failures, including supporting the company’s English VTubing division and how they will always value their customers and be “irreplaceable”.
One of the first things he addressed was the investor relations (IR) statement that ANYCOLOR released on February 7. In it, they described to stakeholders that Tatsuki’s firing was “not significant” compared to the company’s financial results. Although Tazumi clarified that the message was intended only for investors, he admitted that the language used was inappropriate.
Our wording lacks consideration for this situation and makes NIJISANJI EN fans and all VTuber industry supporters feel uncomfortable that ANYCOLOR Inc. underestimated the impact of Selen’s termination or Selen herself. I deeply regret this result and will rethink the way we communicate in English.
He also acknowledged the importance of Tatsuki’s legacy in nurturing Nijisanji’s growth and was saddened that things had ended up in his termination. Regarding building a safe environment, Tazumi admitted that this conflict not only affects them as a company but also affects the overall well-being of their talent.
We take full responsibility for this situation where not only ANYCOLOR Inc. but also our Livers are receiving hurtful messages. I deeply apologize to our Livers and all of their supporters. The company’s actions have put our Gan in difficulty and we are taking this situation very seriously.
Please understand that some Gans may choose to temporarily stop using social media. The management team continues to communicate with Livers to provide any support in any way possible.
Amid the statement, Tazumi acknowledged the lack of content in its English VTubing division and promised to address that problem by hiring more staff for the division to support the agency’s other content offerings. in addition to the usual content. Finally, he mentioned that talent is “irreplaceable” and that aside from business partners, they are the most important individuals they have to protect as a company.
To all those who have, and continue to support Livers, I am very sorry that situations have arisen where our dedication to their well-being was unclear.
Once again, personally and on behalf of our company, I apologize to all of you for causing concern. As ANYCOLOR Inc., we will do everything we can to ensure that we create and maintain an environment where Livers can succeed in their creative endeavors.
Tazumi’s statement following the recent termination of Tatsuki’s contract on alleged violations of several agency policies, including failure to comply with rights acknowledgment and authorization flows, as well as unauthorized use of works and assets belonging to others affiliated with ANYCOLOR. The conflict comes as the company is already under pressure from English-speaking fans as a series of recent talent graduates from the EN branch have raised questions about the branch’s management, most recently by Kyo Kaneko and Pomu Rainpuff.
