Anime Undead Unluck will have a big announcement on August 1

Anime Undead Unluck revealed on Saturday during the Anime Japan 2024 event that the series will have a big announcement on August 1, 2024. The first season was produced by studio David Production and aired a total of 24 episodes from April 1, 2024. October 7, 2023 to March 23, 2024.

Yuki Yase directed the first part of Undead Unluck while Sei Tsugata and Yamato Haishima were in charge of the script. Hideyuki Morioka handled the character designs and Kenichiro Suehiro composed the music. Jin Aketagawa (Fire Force, Dr. Stone) designed the sound and Aiko Mizuno provided the color design. Keito Watanabe served as art director and Takao Saito as photography director.

The film's main cast includes Moe Kahara (Akira – The Executioner and Her Way of Life) as Fuuko Izumo and Yuuichi Nakamura (Gojo – Jujutsu Kaisen) as Andy. Other notable cast members include Natsuki Hanae (Tanjiro – Demon Slayer) in the role GodNobuhiko Okamoto (Bakugo – My Hero Academia) as TopYuki Kaji (Eren – Attack on Titan) as TearAyumu Murase (Hinata – Haikyuu!) as Chikara Shigenoand Mary Jesse (Hymeno – Chainsaw Man) as Judgment.

The Undead Unluck anime series is based on the manga written and illustrated by Yoshifumi Tozuka. It began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on January 20, 2020 and has since released a total of 20 volumes, with Volume 21 scheduled for release on May 2, 2024. Undead Unluck Manga has sold over 1.8 million copies as of March 2024 VIZ Media licensed the series in 2020 and has published the first 14 volumes, with the next volume releasing on April 16, 2024.

VIZ Media describes the story of Undead Unluck as follows: What happens when an unlucky girl meets an immortal boy? Pure chaos! Tired of accidentally killing people with her special ability Unluck, Fuuko Izumo is determined to end it all. But when she meets Andy, a man who craves death but cannot die, she finds a reason to live – and he finds someone who has the ability to give him the death he longs for. All Fuuko wants is a whirlwind romance like in her favorite shoujo manga. Unfortunately, her Unluck ability makes that impossible. But just as Fuuko hits rock bottom, Andy knocks her off her feet—literally! Now she becomes Andy's unwilling test subject as he attempts to find a way to trigger a stroke of bad luck big enough to kill him forever. However, when the two discover a secret organization is hunting them, Andy's burial plans are put on hold.
