The first season of The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors begins airing on April 5. The theatrical preview runs from October 27, 2023 to January 5 this year.
The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors is inspired by the game of the same name released on the enza website in 2018 and on Android and iOS in 2019. The game has the player taking on the role of a new producer at 283 Production, who was assigned to be in charge of many different idols.
The anime features idols from STARS units L’Antica, Houkago Climax Girls, ALSTROEMERIA and Straylight. Other characters include 283 production staff member Hazuki Nanakusa (Hibiku Yamamura) and 283 president Tsutomu Amai (Kenjirou Tsuda).

The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors is part of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER) multimedia series, which began with a 2005 video game ported to the Xbox 360 in 2007. Previous Idolmaster anime includes 2007’s Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, 2011’s The Idolmaster, 2015’s The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, 2017’s The Idolmaster SideM, 2023’s The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149, and 2023’s The Idolmaster Million Live! (also a CG anime like Shiny Colors).
