Solo Leveling began as a web novel written by Chugong, serialized by Korean internet company Kakao on the manga and digital novel platform KakaoPage since July 2016. A webtoon adaptation of the series began. in 2018, written by Chugong and illustrated by Jang Sung-Rak (aka Dubu), who unfortunately passed away in 2022. The film is about Sung Jin-woo, the weakest of the “workers.” hunt”, a group of people with supernatural abilities that specialize in hunting monsters. During a catastrophic raid in a dungeon, Sung Jin-woo is chosen as a solo player by a mysterious program called System. In addition, Jin-woo set the initial standard for cold and emotionless protagonists who later became very popular. In the end, Solo Leveling can’t even be accurately described as an isekai, because the protagonist is not transported to another world, but acquires and uses his special powers in the original world (which is inherent in the original world). was based on fiction).
