Side story Toilet Bound Hanako-kun The after-school Hanako-kun side story will be adapted into an anime short and will premiere on October 12 in Japan. The announcement was followed by the key visual reveal, a short trailer, the voice cast, and a list of the production staff.
The first part of the new anime project will be 10 minutes long and the animated short series will be broadcast for four weeks. Crunchyroll will stream the film earlier on October 10th ahead of its Japanese premiere! Based on the manga of the same name by Iro Aida, the spinoff anime depicts short stories about the daily lives of the characters in addition to the main plot.
The series is directed by Masaki Kitamura with Lerche and Studio Hibari handling production. Kazuma Nagatomo is overseeing the series’ scripts, and Hiroshi Takaki will return after the original anime as the composer for the new spin-off.

▍Introduction to Hanako-Kun in the toilet
Hanako-Kun in the toilet is happening in Japan A manga about the supernatural and the popular high school rumors about the “seven wonders”. The series follows Hanako-Kun, an urban legend about a spirit that is said to haunt Japanese school toilets.
To summon him, one must enter the women’s bathroom, knock three times, and ask if “Hanako-Kun is there.” In the anime, Yashiro Nene gets what she bargained for when summoning a spirit, only to realize that he’s nothing more than an urban legend. The two quickly become friends and Hanako helps her destroy spirits as well as overcome bad rumors about spirits, all with the aim of bringing balance to the spirit world and humans.
Aida launched the After-School Boy Hanako-Kun manga spinoff in Pixiv Comic in February 2018 and ended it with the 25th chapter in October 2021. Square Enix published a compiled book volume for the manga in August. 2019. Yen Press published this volume in English in April 2021.
