Anime NYC has revealed that several hololive members will appear at this year’s event, scheduled to be held in November.
November 17, the first day of Anime NYC 2023, will feature the blue-haired female singer of hololive group Gen 0 Hoshimachi Suisei in her first performance in the United States. The performance will also feature British-Myth-‘s live participation Mori Calliope as a special guest.
The second day of the event will turn attention to Holographic English-Advent-, the third generation of Holographic English launched in July this year. Five Advent members, including the company’s first twin VTubers Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssguard, will appear in a panel called hololive English-Advent-NYC Invasion.
Calliope’s presence in Hoshimachi’s upcoming performance mirrors his appearance in Calliope’s debut solo concert, New Underworld Order, in July 2022. The two VTubers have also collaborated on tracks singing such as “CapSule” by Calliope and “Wicked” by Hoshimachi, the latter also co-written by Calliope. Fans have given the duo the name Death Star, a reference to Calliope’s Grim Reaper legend and Hoshimachi’s celestial motif.
