I’m in Love With a Villainess is adapted from the famous light novel series of the same name by GL. Written by Inori and illustrated by Hanagata, the story follows Rei Oohashi, who spends most of his time outside of work on an otome, or story-based game, called Revolution. One day, she wakes up to discover that she has been reincarnated into the game’s universe and is now living next door to her favorite character, the beautiful but fierce Claire Francois. While the game has three male leads all vying for Rei’s attention, she remains determined to win Claire’s heart.
In addition to the main series, Inori and Hanagata also collaborated to create a best-selling novel titled I’m in Love With the Villainess – She’s So Cheeky for a Commoner! This book retells the plot from Claire’s perspective, giving fans more insight into the nuances of her character. The novel also inspired two additional manga titles, a direct adaptation from manga artist AONOSHIMO and a cooking spin-off titled Maid’s Kitchen, a four-chapter comedy chronicling the efforts of of Rei to prepare delicious sweet treats for Claire.
The light novel I’m in Love With the Villainess by Inori and Hanagata is available in English at Seven Seas Entertainment.
