The official website for the original television anime project Highspeed Étoile revealed the artists performing the anime’s opening and ending themes on Saturday. Nana Mizuki, who plays Alice Summerwood in the series, will perform the opening theme song “ADRENALIZED” and girl group SCANDAL will perform the ending theme song “Fanfare”.
The anime takes place in the near future, where the latest technology has made it so that vehicles can travel at speeds of 500 km/h (about 310 mph) safely and securely. A next generation racing event called NEX Race was born, changing the world of racing. NEX Racing features AI control support and a “Revolburst” mechanic.
A newcomer named Rin Rindo will make his debut in NEX Race and will continue to revolutionize the sport. Rin once had a dream of becoming a ballet dancer but had to give up that dream due to injury. She then became a NEET and a gamer living at her grandmother’s house. But one day, she is suddenly thrown into the world of racing.
Anime stars:
Takuya Fujima (manga artist Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid; original character designer for R-15, Warlords of Sigrdrifa and Weiß Survive) was the original character designer for the show. The anime’s official website features the logos of King Amusement Creative Sonic Blade, Yostar, Good Smile Company, and Super Formula. Super Formula was formerly a racing series in Japan and is collaborating on this project.
The anime will premiere in April. A manga adaptation of the original anime project titled Highspeed Étoile: L’Entrée de Towa et Kanata launched on the Manga Cross website on October 23. Chiaki Misono is drawing the manga in collaboration from Suzuka Circuit.
