The previously announced The Fable anime will premiere this April and will air for two consecutive seasons. Key images and detailed information about the main cast have also been released.
The main cast includes Kazuyuki Okitsu as Akira Sato, Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoko Sato, Kana Hanazawa as Misaki Shimizu, Akio Atsuka as Takeshi Ebihara, Kenjiro Tsuda as Kenji Kojima, Tetsuo Komura as The Boss and Jun Fukushima as Jackal Tomioka.
Tezuka Productions (My Home Hero, The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses) is working on the anime adaptation under the direction of Ryosuke Takahashi. Yuya Takashima is composing the series and writing the script with Mayumi Morita. Meanwhile, Kyuma Oshita, Saki Hasegawa and Junichi Hayama are designing the characters.
The Fable anime was first announced in July 2023, with the first trailer released the following month. It is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Katsuhisa Minami. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine from November 2014 to November 2019. A sequel titled The Fable: The Second Contact began in Weekly Young Magazine in July 2021. The manga was adapted into a live-action film in June 2019, starring Junichi Okada, Fumino Kimura, Mizuki Yamamoto, and Kai Iwonaki, among others. The movie is available to watch on Netflix. The film’s sequel titled The Fable: A Hitman Who Didn’t Kill was released on June 18, 2021.
