Yōhei Azakami voices Elise’s fiance in her first life from the January anime
Kadokawa began posting a character promotional video for Doctor Elise, a television anime based on author Yuin and illustrator Mini’s Surgeon Elise (Gekai Elise, or Oegwauisa Elise in Korean) reincarnated medical pseudo-web novel thought and manwha scrolled along on Wednesday. The video features the character Linden, Elise’s first fiance.

The anime will premiere in January 2024.
Kumiko Habara (I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss) is directing the anime at Maho Film. Deko Akao (Komi Can’t Communication) is in charge of compiling the series. Yūko Watabe is designing the characters. Kakao Entertainment Corp. is an associate producer of the anime. Elise (voiced by Yui Ishikawa) will perform the anime’s opening theme song “believer” and singer Maju Arai will perform the ending theme song “Listen”.
The story of the anime follows Aoi Takamoto, who was once an evil queen named Elise before being executed by her husband Linden. When Elise is reincarnated into the modern world as Aoi, she becomes a surgeon to atone for her mistakes. However, after dying in a plane crash, she was once again reincarnated into her previous life as Elise, 10 years before her execution. This time she avoids marrying Linden to prevent a tragedy. With her medical knowledge, she decided she wanted to become a doctor again in this life.
Yuin and Mini launched manwha on KakaoPage in 2017. Tappytoon published the English version as Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp. The series ended in February 2021. There are a total of 10 volumes for the manwha and 4 volumes for the novel. Kadokawa will begin releasing the Japanese version of the original novel on January 15.
