Trailer for the new anime Delicious in Dungeon from Studio Trigger has just been released, giving fans their first look at the food-themed fantasy series, as well as an official release date. Delicious in Dungeon is based on the manga of the same name, which started out in 2014 and is still ongoing. Trigger previously produced a TV commercial for the series in 2019, so fans have been hoping they’ll pick up the series for a complete adaptation ever since.

Delicious in Dungeon follows the adventures of a group of dungeon explorers, whose mission is to rescue their friend trapped at the bottom of the dungeon. However, Laios simply always wanted to try monster meat and had some grand plans for how to best cook it… even if his teammates weren’t very enthusiastic about the idea. With such a silly premise, the series is of course a comedy and seems heavily inspired by Dungeons and Dragons.
Cooking-themed anime, like the infamous Food Wars, tend to lean towards the absurd in their establishment, and Studio Trigger’s Delicious in Dungeon is no exception. The trailer includes a parody of the famous Pokémon motto in the form of “Gotta Eat ’em All!”, which is really all one needs to know about the seriousness of this series. However, the characters still have to deal with many of the realities of dungeons, like avoiding traps, defeating monsters, and natural hazards from the environment, meaning there’s still plenty of fantasy adventure on the horizon. way.
