More evidence has been put forward to support rumors of an upcoming anime announcement for Shonen Jump’s Dandadan.
The Shonen Jump News Twitter account revealed that an internet domain named anime-dandadan.com was recently registered. In addition, a Twitter account named @anime-dandadan has also been created. These developments have come along with rumors of an anime adaptation of the sci-fi comedy series, which were fueled earlier this week. Animation studio confirmation, release window, production schedule, and more are not available at the time of writing.

Although this potential project has not been officially confirmed, many sources believe that it is about to be revealed. One consistent rumor is that the series will be produced by Bones, the company known for creating the following anime: My Hero Academia, Ouran High School Host Club, Bungo Stray Dogs, Mob Psycho 100, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and more. Further developments will be reported as they appear.
Fans of the series have expressed their excitement over the potential project, with many comments speculating about its upcoming announcement. Some debate about the studio, with users suggesting another potential producer could be Wit Studio, a production company best known for its Rated of Kings, Attack on Titan (1-3), Vinland Saga Part 1, etc. Others expressed that they hope the series will do justice to the original material.
Manga fans eagerly await an anime adaptation of Dandadan
Dandadan, written by Yukinobu Tatsu, began serialization on the digital Shonen Jump + platform in April 2021 and has become a popular series since its debut. The manga is listed as the 10th most read title in Shueisha’s MANGA Plus app, alongside popular projects like Dragon Ball Super, Oshi no Ko, Spy x Family, One Piece, etc. received support from fans who wanted to see it adapted, as it was on the My Anime List fan-voted manga list that would receive an anime vote.
The story follows the strange union of two high school students, Momo Ayase and Okarun. Ayase is a devout believer of the occult, while Okarun is a strong supporter of the existence of extraterrestrials. They disagree with other people’s beliefs and set out to prove their point, only to discover that both aliens and Yokai exist. This leads Momo and Okarun on a series of tumultuous adventures filled with bizarre creatures, action, and awkward romance.
