Yu-Gi-Oh!Yu-Gi-Oh’s latest anime series! Sevens and Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!!, changed the rules of the original Duel Monsters card game, but this is actually a good thing. While many fans may not have liked this change since they were attached to the version of the game they watched growing up, this change ultimately made the new anime more accessible to a wider audience. more iconic. This is especially important due to the complexity of the original card game at the end of the sixth series of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS.
After the second series Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, each new anime introduces a brand new summoning mechanic. This didn’t make the gameplay too complicated at first as the new series spent a lot of time explaining these new rules. Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, the fourth anime, makes things easier by skipping the previous series Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Synchro summoning mechanism, focusing only on Xyz Summons. The next series Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V features all of the summoning mechanics that preceded it in Yu-Gi-Oh! the franchise’s darkest crossover while also introducing its own new mechanics. The game’s complexity only increased further as the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS introduced Link Summons.
Rush Duels completely changes the way Yu-Gi-Oh! Playing
Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sevens changed the game again, but in a way that simplified things instead of complicating them. The main character of that series, Yuga, was frustrated with the current state of the original game and so created their own new set of rules which he called Rush Duels. Rush Duels removes all the old summoning mechanics that the previous anime introduced, sticking only with the mechanics found in the original game. It also completely changes the tempo of the game, with duel players being able to summon as many monsters as they want per turn and fully replenish their hand as they draw. This makes the games more fun and fast-paced in an easy to understand way.
All of this makes Rush Duels more accessible to a new fan of Yu-Gi-Oh! Franchising can be confused by all its different rules. While the complexity of the duels in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS has made them one of the best games in the series, they also make it difficult for viewers who are new to the game’s old rules to follow. For Yu-Gi-Oh! As the franchise continues to thrive, it needs to be able to attract young fans new to anime. Apparently Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens is trying to do just that, especially since its main characters are much younger than the previous installments, in elementary school.
Changes to the rules of Yu-Gi-Oh! is the best for the future of franchising
While two Yu-Gi-Oh! anime has focused heavily on Rush Duels, it’s not impossible that later series could return to the original version of the game. After all, Yu-Gi-Oh! Card games are still hugely popular, and there’s even an ongoing manga series called Yu-Gi-Oh! The OCG structure still has its features. In addition, Rush Duels features featured monsters connected to the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, showing that the old game has not been forgotten. But for now, it seems Yu-Gi-Oh! anime mainly focuses on Duelhopes to continue to attract new fans to the franchise.
