The previously announced anime adaptation of the Blue Box manga has revealed a new trailer and release date. Telecon Animation Film is animating the film adaptation but has no release date yet. The image shows Taiki and Chinatsu performing the “blue box” gesture with their hands:
The main cast includes:
- Shoya Chiba plays Taiki Inomata
- Reina Ueda as Chinatsu Kano
- Akari Kito as Hina Chono
Blue Box is based on the manga by Kouji Miura. The series began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in April 2021. It was initially published as a one-shot in 2020, before beginning regular publication. A total of 14 volumes have been published as of today. VIZ Media is publishing it in English and describes the plot as:Taiki admires Chinatsu from afar, but he suspects that she sees him the same way. However, somehow, he mustered up the courage to tell her to never give up on her dreams! After such a bold declaration, will Taiki’s fleeting high school romance finally begin?
The Blue Box anime was announced last November. The first trailer was shown during the Jump Festa ’24 event. Akari Kito’s role was also announced at the event – she took the stage with Chiba and Ueda. Anime will have a stage at Anime Japan this year.
