Anime phone franchises are becoming increasingly popular with many new and upcoming anime
This year's Gunma 45th anniversary saw many new projects and updates. Upcoming VR anime Mobile Suit Gunma: Silver Phantom released new trailers and images in March, following the US premiere of Mobile Suit Guns SEED Freedom. Tomino recently made headlines after playfully calling on the next generation of anime creators to “crush Miyazaki.”
As seen in the name, using Fighter instead of the Suit title as in all previous series, G Gunda set itself apart by subverting the typical wartime drama genre. CBR Features recommends G Gundunda for fans looking for “a little fun, silliness and bombast.” It also parallels the quirks of modern fighting tournaments like Naruto's Chunin Exams or Yu Yu Hakusho's Shadow Tournament with matches in the 'Gundam series.
