The Acro Trip anime has revealed a new key visual, an October 2 release date, and three new cast members. Studio Voil, a new studio headed by former Geno Studio anime producer Takeo Otaka, will animate the series. It was announced in January 2023.

Ayumu Kotake will direct the film, with Shinichi Inotsume in charge of the script. Toshie Kawamura is the character designer and Ryo Tanaka is the sound director. It was also announced that KanoeRana will perform the ending theme song “Reversible Baby.”
The Acro Trip manga series is written and illustrated by Yone Sawata. It was serialized in Shueisha's shojo magazine Ribon from February 2017 to December 2022 and compiled into five volumes. The series was also recommended by Kaguya-sama: Love is War author Aka Akasaka and OSHI NO KO author.
Acro Trip tells the story of Date Chizuko, an otaku girl who is obsessed with the magical girl Berry Blossom, who protects her city. However, Berry's enemy – Chroma from the evil organization Fossa Magna – is weak and incompetent, so no one cares about their fight. Chizuko then vows to discover the magical girl's various exploits on her own.
