On Wednesday, Kodansha revealed exciting news about the upcoming live-action adaptation of Peko Watanabe’s “1122: For a Happy Mar” manga. The film is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in early summer 2024, with Masaki Okada and Mitsuki Takahata in the lead roles of Otoya Aihara and Ichiko Aihara.
The director is Rikiya Imaizumi, with a script written by his wife, Kaori Imaizumi. The project was presented by Murumble Studios and assigned to planning by Junko Satō, produced by Lat-Lon.

Publisher Kodansha USA, responsible for releasing the manga in English, provides a glimpse of the plot: Ichiko Aihara and Otoya Aihara, married for seven years, maintain a harmonious relationship.
Although they are compatible, they struggle with a lack of intimacy and the absence of children, leading them to adopt an unusual “permitting extramarital (official affairs)” agreement.
Otoya is romantically involved with Mitsuki, a fact that Ichiko already knows. Observing Otoya’s romantic relationship with Mitsuki prompted a change in Ichiko. Peko Watanabe, praised for “Nikotama,” weaves a tale of deception and truth within the context of marriage, delivering a story that resonates with those contemplating the complexities of marriage. core.
Watanabe launched the manga in Kodansha’s Morning two magazine in September 2016, concluding it in April 2020. The seventh and final compiled volume hit stores in July 2020.
