Another special character image of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has been released, featuring four members of the Hero Party including Heiter, Frieren, Himmel, and Eisen. The visuals are reminiscent of the first volume of the original manga.
The anime is scheduled to premiere with a 2-hour special on September 29, 2023.

Keiichirou Saitou (Bocchi the Rock! ) is directing the anime, with Tomohiro Suzuki (One-Punch Man) writing the series scripts, Reiko Nagasawa (takt op.Destiny) as the character designer, and Evan Call ( Violet Evergarden) is a composer. MADHOUSE is in charge of animation production for the anime.
Other production staff include Daiki Harashina (takt op.Destiny D2 designer) as mystical creature designer, Tooru Iwazawa (takt op.Destiny) as action director, Sawako Takagi (Bleach) is the art director, Harue Ohno (A Place Beyond Than the Universe) is the color designer and Akane Fushihara (Spy x Family) is the creative director.
Meanwhile, the voice cast features Atsumi Tanezaki as Frieren, Nobuhiko Okamoto as hero Himmel, Hiroki Touchi as priest Heiter, Youji Ueda as warrior Eisen, Kana Ichinose as Fern, and Chiaki Kobayashi as Stark.
The anime is based on the original fantasy manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, which won the grand prize of Manga Taisho 2021. The manga was first serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday on May 28. 4, 2020 and has been on hiatus since January 2023. Ten tankoubon volumes have been published under the Shonen Sunday Comics label as of March 2023. The 11th volume will be released on September 15, 2023. Viz Media publishes the manga in English.

Crunchyroll will air Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and the synopsis is as follows:
The magician Frieren defeated the Demon King along with the hero Himmel’s party after 10 years of searching. Peace was restored to the kingdom. Because she is an elf, she can live for more than a thousand years. She promises Himmel and the others that she will come back to them and then set out on her own. Fifty years later, Frieren visits Himmel and the others. She remained unchanged, but Himmel and the others had aged and had only a fraction of their lives left. She then witnesses Himmel’s death. Frieren is heartbroken by the desire to spend more time getting to know people. With that regret in her heart, she continued her journey to do just that. On her journey, she meets many people and many events await her.
