Shuhei Nakata, the production desk of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, is leaving the anime to take on a new role at Wit Studio.
On Twitter, Nakata announced that he was leaving Studio Pierrot. Nakata wrote: “As of today, I have quit my job at Pierrot Co., Ltd., which I have been with for about seven years. “From April, I will start producing work at another studio.” Although the tweet doesn’t specify Wit Studio, Nakata’s Twitter bio mentions the switch from Studio Pierrot to Wit Studio.
Shuhei Nakata Working on Boruto
Nakata’s production desk role for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations meant he was responsible for overseeing the schedule and managing the work of the production assistants. In addition, he is responsible for allocating funds for the episodes and attending meetings about the series’ progress. Basically, Nakata is responsible for making sure Boruto: Naruto Next Generations production stays on track.
In 2021, Nakata was appointed as the production desk for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. In a tweet from January 15, 2021, Nakata listed his six goals for the show: Improve scheduling, review unit prices, increase headcount, reduce production assistant driving work export to 0, incorporates Blender drawing techniques and allows animators to go abroad for many episodes.
As Season 1 of the Boruto anime series ends, Nakata will now take on a new role at Wit Studio. Wit Studio is an animation production company formerly associated with the Attack on Titan animated series as well as Vinland Saga. Both series are currently produced by MAPPA. Currently, Wit Studio is producing the Spy x Family anime series. Spy x Family Season 2 will be released in October. Spy x Family CODE: White animated movie will be released on December 22nd.
Although there is currently no release date for Season 2 of the anime series, the Boruto manga – currently written by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto – is still ongoing. Masaya Honda, a screenwriter for the Boruto anime, wrote an emotional tribute to the series after airing the final episode.
The original Naruto, Naruto Shippuden and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime series are available on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
