Endeavor's rise as the number one hero reignited Dabi's hatred for his family, emphasizing the potential for redemption in the series.
Dabi, or Todoroki Touya, has lived a tragic life due to his traumatic childhood. As a result, he went down the path of villainy, becoming a remorseless serial killer in My Hero Academia. Can Dabi atone for his past actions after being driven insane by abandonment, feeling abandoned, and wishing bad things for his family?
As Todoroki Enji, also known as Endeavor, is increasingly recognized as the number one hero, this further fuels Dabi's hatred towards his family, wanting nothing more than to harm them. My Hero Academia places an emphasis on redeeming its characters, making them see the error of their ways and getting the help they need.
Can Dabi be redeemed for his past actions as a villain?
Can Dabi be redeemed for his villainous actions? It is unlikely that the victim's family and people will forgive Dabi in My Hero Academia. While the series emphasizes redemption, Dabi's actions, motivated by hatred and revenge, cannot be easily forgiven.
However, Todoroki's family still loved their eldest son and tried their best to keep him from hurting himself or others; unless Dabi is willing to show change, those around him may see him as redeemable. It's also possible that the series will give Dabi a redemption arc; however, as we read Chapter 424, that is unlikely to happen unless the series creates a sequel after the events.

Dabi's painful childhood
All members of the Todoroki family have experienced trauma, with Enji and Rei's children suffering from their father's obsession. Enji, obsessed with surpassing All Might, had what is called a Quirk Marriage, an arranged marriage between two users in hopes of passing on an inherited Quirk.
These practices have been frowned upon in the My Hero Academia world, as the notation is creating custom children. Endeavor wanted to achieve this with his children, as he knew he would not be able to surpass All Might in his lifetime. Along with that is Dabi, also known as Touya. Dabi was born with a much stronger Quirk than the Endeavors, as his flames can reach greater power than his father's. However, the only downside to this power is that Dabi inherited his mother's weakness to heat, and as a result, his body cannot withstand his growing flames.
While Endeavor longed for a child with combined powers, he still placed his ambitions and goals on Dabi. Although this may seem like a lot for a child, Touya has always been excited about Quirk training and wanted to show his father what he could achieve. However, with Shoto's appearance and his body weakening, he quickly fell into despair. Touya wants to be acknowledged by his father, so he continues to secretly train at Sekoto Peak. However, Endeavor knew Touya's body could not withstand his growing fire, so he urged Touya to stop training. Unfortunately, this only fuels Touya's ambitions.
Unfortunately, after Touya reached a point of despair, he sought to attack the reason why his father no longer paid attention to him, Shoto's younger brother, when he was still a baby. However, this action caused Endeavor to completely separate Shoto from his siblings, which is why Touyas' resentment grew.
Dabi's life as a villain
At this point, Touya's resentment grows, and he quickly realizes his rage and emotions fuel his firepower. Touya's resentment and anxiety over not being recognized by Endeavor had reached alarming levels, and tonight at Sekoto Peak, Touya was unable to control his firepower. After the tragic incident at Sekoto Peak, Touya was presumed dead and was taken to a care facility by All For One.
After returning home and learning that his family believes him to be dead and learning that his father continues his efforts to raise Shoto, Touya accepts death and begins a new life as Dabi. Because of this, Dabi's hatred towards Endeavor continued to grow, leading him to join the League of Villains and plot to ruin Endeavor's career as a Hero.
During his time as a villain, Dabi participated in a mass murder spree, easily killing 30 Heroes without showing any remorse for those he killed. Additionally, Dabi can also easily destroy low-level villains during the Provisional Hero License Exam. As a result, his personality quickly became more distorted over time. However, Dabi wants nothing more than to see his father perish. Dabi will likely be locked up in a new prison similar to Tartarus after being treated for his injuries by his family; however, this does not mean that his villainous actions have been redeemed.

Touya's cry for help
Throughout Dabi's descent into madness, one thing remained clear: He always wanted to be recognized by his father and family. While the birth of his younger siblings made him feel pushed aside, his resentment grew after Shoto was born, and he eventually found himself being pushed aside for his younger brother. his prodigality.
Dabi will do his best to further ruin his father's career to ensure that his growing fans will hate him. At that time, Dabi had appeared several times before Endeavor; However, with his scarred body and changed appearance, it is difficult for anyone in Todoroki's family to recognize the family's eldest son.
In an attempt to disappoint his father, Dabi publicly and strategically revealed that he was Endeavour's son. He also revealed the abuse and neglect he and his siblings endured while living with their father. Heroes depend heavily on the support of their people to continue their Heroic career. Dabi, revealing he is a serial killer, knows he can influence public opinion. This, along with blowing himself up with Endeavor, is one of the many ways Dabi tries to get his father's attention. Finally, during the final battle with his family, Dabi realizes that they see him for who he really is; however, it is unlikely his past actions will be forgiven.
