The One Piece anime series has no shortage of video games, with recent releases such as One Piece Odyssey and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4. However, a new 2D fighting game is currently in development. Satisfy longtime fans with anime-standard graphics.
One Piece: Ambition, formerly known as Project: Fighter, is a new mobile video game based on Eiichiro Oda's One Piece series. Although the game is still a work in progress, fans have already been given a taste of what to expect from One Piece: Ambition from the first public beta test. So far, the recent beta test appears to have been a resounding success, leaving One Piece fans stunned by how much the game looks exactly like the anime — or, according to some, even better than it. . One Piece celebrates milestone at Las Vegas Sphere with new larger-than-life screen
Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates will soon be taking over the Las Vegas Sphere — and much more — for its upcoming 25th anniversary.
The first look gameplay from One Piece: Ambition is reminiscent of Dragon Ball FighterZ fans
Based on comments from @/v2TokyoGhost and other online users, One Piece: Ambition brings back fond memories of Dragon Ball FighterZ with its anime-like visuals. Additionally, the game is also attracting people thanks to its top combos and flashy finishing moves from the current roster of 24 characters. Interestingly, while the current character selection includes Sir Crocodile, Enel and Bellamy the Hyena, Nico Robin is nowhere to be seen. Of course, the game is not yet officially released, meaning she will likely be added in a future update.
At the time of this writing, One Piece: Ambition is only planned for release in China. There are currently no announcements regarding an English release, or even a Japanese release. The game was developed by More Fun Studios Group – owned by Chinese video game publisher Tencent – which is officially collaborating with Bandai Namco Entertainment in developing the game. However, with the strong global push for One Piece in recent years, especially in North America, it is certainly possible that One Piece: Ambition will have an English release in the future.
