With the ending of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, you may want to continue the manga right after the anime without waiting for the journey to Ende to continue in anime form. MADHOUSE's anime is an incredible adaptation (even winning the Best Adaptation Award in our 2023 Anime Awards) and consists of 60 chapters. That's just a little more than 6 manga volumes. If you plan to continue reading the Frieren manga after the anime, then volume 7 is the answer.
The first 3 chapters of episode 7 are the final episodes of the anime. Their titles were “The Intuition of the Serie,” “With a Little Help,” and “Departure and Farewell,” the last of which ended after Himmel's speech of farewell words.
Viz Media licensed the original manga in English, and they describe the story of volume 7: After all the dangers the contestants face, passing the first-class mage exam comes with an interview. Simple with Serie, where intuition will determine success or not. Fail. Afterwards, Frieren, Fern and Stark set out again for Aureole, the land where souls rest. The journey brings new challenges—though the biggest challenge Stark and Fern may face is dating each other!
Manga Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. The novel will have five original stories, revolving around Frieren, Fern, Stark, Kanne/Lawine and Aura. The manga's 13th volume will be released at the same time as the prequel novel.
