ICv2 reported on Monday that Last Gasp Publishing has licensed Keiichi Koike’s Ultra Heaven manga.
The company will publish the manga in three volumes. They are currently translating the manga but have not yet announced the format, price, or final release date. According to ICv2 Ultra Heaven is a “science fiction story” and “strongly influenced by Koike’s experiences with hallucinogens”.
Koike launched the manga in 2001 after publishing a four-chapter story with the same title in 1998. Enterbrain published a third compilation of the manga in November 2009.
Last Gasp Publishing released the short manga anthology Heaven’s Door: Extra Works by Keiichi Koike in English in 2022. Ajani Oloye translated the anthology and Colin Turner edited it. Kadokawa published the book Heaven’s Door: Extra Works in Japan in July 2016. Koike also released a similar short manga anthology Heaven’s Door in 2003.
Koike won the Tezuka Prize at the age of 16 in 1976.
