Summary
Sarada is described as a powerful person in Boruto but is constantly sidelined. Fan art by @BrentonsArt depicts Sarada in a more mature and serious role, taking on powerful enemies. The fan art suggests that Sarada has the potential to become a main character in the story, capable of taking on enemies with confidence and skill.
Right from the first chapter, BorutoCreator Masashi Kishimoto teased that, along with Boruto, Uchiha Sarada will play an important role in the story. However, while Boruto has become the core of the story, the same cannot be said for Sarada, who continues to be asked to be a power player, only to be sidelined. However, while Kishimoto flirts, a fan gives their interpretation of Sarada the story it deserves.
In an awesome piece of fan art posted to X, by @BrentonsArt, Sarada is described as the kunoichi most anticipated by fans. when she first appeared in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The artwork, consisting of two separate images, shows an older, more mature, and more serious Sarada confronting old and future enemies.
In the first image, @BrentonsArt depicts Sarada using one of her father’s signature techniques, torpedo throwing, while Sakura stands nervously in the background. In the second image, the artist updates the story according to the current plot with Sarada gets ready to confront Hidari – one of the four self-aware incarnations of the Divine Tree that first appeared in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Hidari is a clone of Sasuke, who is currently in a semi-dead state, and the story teases that this fateful confrontation will soon occur.
Sarada is Boruto’s invisible star
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex by Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto
In both cases, @BrentonsArt imagines the young Sasuke clan facing off against two of the story’s most powerful enemies – all alone. If normal reading of the manga isn’t enough to show how great Sarada has done in the story, then the number of volumes and chapter covers and color pages she’s seen should be. Indeed, with the exception of Boruto, no one appears more primarily as the “poster child” for the series than Sarada.
Unfortunately, one of the most recent covers featuring Sarada caused controversy among fans due to her overly sexualized depiction. Luckily, it seems like after the time skip, the series has moved on. Even if Sarada’s outfit is somewhat meaningless due to her wearing high heels, this is still common in the character design of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Luckily, @BrentonsArt’s works depict Sarada as a powerful kunoichi, while still retaining references to Sasuke’s style found in the manga.
Fan Art reveals Sarada’s immense potential if given a deeper role
Unfortunately, Sarada is still a supporting character in Boruto. @BrentonsArt delivers on the promise Kishimoto continues to make about Sarada’s greatness – but remains unfulfilled. The fan art strongly suggests that Sarada is fully capable of taking on great enemies with the same confidence, skill, and courage. Boruto revealed when in similar situations.
