Anime Blue Wolves of Mibu has revealed teaser images and a release date of fall 2024. In addition, Sugita Tomokazu has voiced the role of Shinsengumi leader Isami Kondo. MAHO FILM is producing the animation for the film, with Kumiko Habara as director. See the new teaser image:

Tsuyoshi Yasuda’s Blue Wolves of Mibu manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since October 2021. Kodansha USA has licensed the manga in English and they will begin releasing it in spring 2024. story description:It is 1863, the twilight of the shogunate, and Japan is on the verge of great change. The capital’s streets are drenched in blood as political upheaval and rising tensions between the wandering, derelict ronin and government samurai set the stage for one of the most tumultuous periods in Japanese history. Orphaned boy Nio is no stranger to the harsh realities of the world, but he cannot help but cling to his burning passion for justice and the desire to change the world for the better. One day, he came across two men who would become central figures in the coming revolution: Hijikata Toshizo and Okita Souji, two of the founding members of a hated group of ronin known as Miburo. – who later became known as the Shinsengumi. Inspired by the efforts of the so-called “Blue Wolves of Mibu”, Nio decides to join the ranks to help chart a path to the world he wishes to see. But with new betrayals and reversals every day, can Nio live up to his conscience?
Tsuyoshi Yasuda is also known for other manga titles such as Days and Over Drive. Days received an anime adaptation by MAPPA, while Over Drive received an anime adaptation by studio Xebec. Yasuda also wrote the manga InspiRED, a collaboration between Kodansha and professional football club Liverpool FC.
