The official website for the television anime series based on Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Sōsō no Frieren) manga began airing a trailer on Saturday for the “First Class Magician Exam” arc of the show will start with its 17th episode on January 5. The new season will also mark the start of the show’s second season (a quarter year). Yorushika will perform the new opening theme song “Hareru.”

The anime then began airing the following episodes on October 6 at 11 p.m. JST in NTV’s new anime timeslot,”FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT.”The anime will run for two consecutive seasons until March 2024. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs and is also streaming the English dub.

The adventure is over but life goes on for an elven mage who is just starting to learn the meaning of life. The elven mage Frieren and her brave companions defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. But Frieren will live longer than the rest of her old group. How will she understand what life means to those around her? Decades after their victory, the funeral of one of her friends causes Frieren to confront her own near-immortality. Frieren sets out to fulfill his teammate’s last wish and finds himself embarking on a new adventure…
Keiichirō Saitō (Bocchi the Rock!) is directing the anime at Madhouse. Tomohiro Suzuki (ACCA: 13 Territory Control Room, One-Punch Man, Boogiepop and others) is in charge of the series scripts. Reiko Nagasawa (takt op. Destiny) designed the characters. Evan Call (Violet Evergarden, Josee, The Tiger and the Fish, Muv-Luv Alternative) is composing the music.
YOASOBI performed the current opening theme song”Yūsha”(Hero) and Milet performed the ending theme song”Anytime Anywhere.”
Yamada and Abe launched the ongoing manga in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020. The manga has won several awards, including the Festival New Creator Award 25th Annual Tezuka Osamu Culture Awards 2021 and 14th Manga Taisho Awards 2021. Additionally, the manga was nominated for Best Shōnen Manga for the 45th Annual Kodansha Manga Awards in 2021 and 46th award in May 2022. The American Library Association’s Comics & Graphic Novels Roundtable (GNCRT) included the manga in its list of the 10 best graphic novels for adults to read this year. 2022.
