In this penultimate episode, Kaoru Nagase or Kaoru for short is preparing some packed lunches with her friends and her adopted daughter Reyette.
And this is a dish that is very popular with the townspeople in Jusral, although they choose the likes of Belle or even Francette when it comes to bento. But what about Kaoru?
Well, most of the townspeople agree that her packed lunch is just… plain. Sure, her lunch box contained some healthy meals, but according to them, the presentation was somewhat lacking.
As for Kaoru, she was quite disappointed that her lunch box did not qualify, despite the fact that she introduced the concept of bento into the fantasy world.
Meanwhile, it seems Kaoru noticed that most cough and cold medicines are out of stock. Oh, I hope that won’t be some bad omen in the Jusral Kingdom.
But let’s move on to some serious stuff as Kaoru Nagase calls out Lieutenant Colonel Nevas von Vonsas for selling medical drugs on the black market instead of giving them to every soldier in the platoon.
Hell, she even finds a letter in which Kaoru decodes. Come on, she has the ability to understand every language.
However, Lt. Col. Nevas clarified that the letter belonged to a gang that embezzled military equipment and supplies onto the black market, meaning he may not have been involved after all.
Lieutenant Colonel Nevas von Vonsas, on the other hand, was very impressed with it. Kaoru’s decoding skills he wanted to recruit the young girl but she refused. I mean, Kaoru wants an easy life in a fantasy world.
However, the army was still so impressed by Kaoru’s codebreaking skills that a certain company commander named Viscount Sevos von Larsrick recruited her to find the treasure hidden by his own family.
Why hunt for treasure? Because Viscount Sevos was worried that his domain would be at risk of bankruptcy and unstable famine. Ugh, this isn’t good for Kaoru because the townspeople won’t buy her stuff if they’re hungry and penniless.
Don’t worry, though, because Kaoru will save the world by summoning a metal detector, which is essentially a pillbox just like Francette’s Exgram and the carriage fight.
Of course, Viscount Sevos is quite suspicious of Kaoru’s metal detector since it might not find any treasure. Oh foolish captain, no matter what Kaoru will find your treasure!
Anyhow, it seems Kaoru has found the jackpot when she discovers the treasure behind the wall. So Viscount Sevos ordered his men to tear down the wall… until he was disappointed that it was just a safe.
Actually, this safe is hiding something when Kaoru uses a coin to scratch the surface of the safe…
…until it was revealed that the safe was actually made of gold. It seems unlikely that the viscount will have to worry about his domain going bankrupt.
And so he praised Celestine and his ancestors for retrieving the elusive treasure to save his land. Then again, getting gold won’t solve the domain’s problems.
So, Kaoru told Viscount Sevos von Larsrick that he should overhaul the irrigation system, analyze the cause of their crop failure, and plant various crops such as potatoes so that his domain would not have to worry about food shortages.
In any case, Kaoru’s wisdom saved the Kingdom of Jusral from eternal famine. Now she could finally rest comfortably and-
Wait, it seems like she won’t be resting any time soon because the kingdom is experiencing an epidemic where everyone is suffering from an unknown disease. It looks like Kaoru will face her biggest challenge yet!
But yeah, it looks like our protagonist will have to come up with a cure that can save all the townspeople without revealing himself as Celestine’s friend. Anyway, see you in the final episode!
