The story is set in a remote world where both gods and mortals live. A young man named Ichiyō sets out to capture the gods who have fled and scattered throughout the kingdom. Along with his subordinate god Tenkō, Ichiyō searches for four evil gods who hold the key to the kingdom’s downfall.
Takayama began serializing the manga in Ichijinsha’s Zero-Sum Ward magazine in 2008. After the magazine ceased publication in 2015, the manga continued to be serialized on the Zero-Sum Online service as a Takayama’s longest. Ichijinsha has published 16 volumes to date with over 1.3 million copies in circulation (including digital copies).
Takayama’s Amatsuki manga was also adapted into a television anime in 2008.
