The official website for the television anime based on Kei Azumi’s “alternative world social reform fantasy” novel Tsukimichi-Moonlit Fantasy-(Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Dōchū) has begun posting a second promotional video for the anime’s second season on Wednesday. The video revealed the two new cast members, the theme song artists, and the season premiere on January 8. The video introduced the season opening theme song “Utopia” by returning singer Keina Suda.

Actor Kent Itō will perform the anime’s ending theme song “My Factor” as his first anime tie-in song.
The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS NTV at 11pm JST on January 8 (9am EST) and on MBS on January 9.

The second season will premiere in January 2024. JC Staff will animate the second season (replacing C2C).
Other new cast members for the second season include:
Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Super Lovers) returns as director, along with Kenta Ihara (Saga of Tanya the Evil, Caucious Hero: The Overpowered but Overly Cautious Hero, Hidden Dungeon That Only I Know can enter) is in charge of compiling the series. Yukie Suzuki (Fight League: Gear Gadget Generators) once again serves as character designer. Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail, Log Horizon, Super Lovers) continues to compose music.
The first season premiered in July 2021. This is the first anime for NTV’s newly established Anime Department.
NTV describes the anime:
Makoto Misumi is just an ordinary high school student living an ordinary life, but is suddenly summoned to another world to become a “hero.” However, the goddess of another world insults him. because of his differences and stripped him of his “hero” title, before sending him into the wilderness at the edge of the world. While wandering in the wilderness, Makoto encounters dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and all sorts of non-human tribes. Because Makoto comes from another world, he can unleash magical powers and unimaginable fighting skills. But how will he handle encountering many different species and surviving in new environments. In this fantasy, Makoto tries to make the other world a better place even though the humans and gods have turned their backs on him.
NTV ensures worldwide distribution of the anime outside of Asia through Crunchyroll. The company also secures significant revenue for anime distribution in Asia through MediaLink Entertainment Limited’s Ani-One Asia streaming channel and Aniplus-Asia television channel. The anime will launch through these distributors (in addition to Crunchyroll) in Korea (Aniplus-Asia) and in Southeast Asia (Ani-One Asia)” immediately after [anime] aired in Japan.”Between the three distributors, the platforms will distribute the anime in more than 200 countries and regions.
Azumi launched the novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012, and AlphaPolis published the 18th printed volume with illustrations by Mitsuaki Matsumoto in August 2022. The series has 1.4 million copies in circulation . Kotora Kino began serializing the story in 2016 and AlphaPolis published the 12th volume on July 21.
