At CosCon 2023 in Nagpur, India, dedicated Dragon Ball enthusiasts achieved the remarkable feat of performing the largest group Kamehameha.
Guinness World Record for most individuals performing a Dragon Ball Kamehameha stand at the same time with 870 people, set in Israel on August 18, 2022. Incredibly, just over a year later, these Indian anime fans have surpassed this record.
The two-day CosCon event, held at Tirpude College from October 28 to October 29, 2023. On the evening of October 29, about 1,800 fans gathered to support the Kamehameha team, breaking the world record informally.

Hosted by Ankur Javeri, the Hindi voice actor for Goku, the event was a testament to the fervor of anime lovers in Nagpur. Javeri expressed his excitement, saying, “I am absolutely excited to be a part of this Kamehameha history at Nagpur CosCon 2023.” “The huge participation of anime lovers in Nagpur, along with support from Cartoon Network and Nagpur Anime Club, made it all the more special,” he added. It’s safe to say that India’s appetite for anime and love for Dragon Ball and Goku is off the charts and we have broken the unofficial world record for the largest Kamehameha!”
Vaibhav Thakkar, the voice actor for Kid Goku in Hindi, was also surprised by this achievement and predicted that it could be officially recognized by Guinness World Records. Coscon’s television channel partner, Cartoon Network India, has played a pivotal role in popularizing Dragon Ball in India. Uttam Pal Singh, head of children’s group South Asia at Warner Bros. Discover, underlines the channel’s commitment to supporting the anime community, deepening its connection with Indian fans. Samarth Thakral, the event’s organizer, reflected on the importance of Kamehameha in their community, highlighting the huge achievement of seeing an army of fans unite to chant the signature move of Goku.
