10 Anya declares her love for peanuts
“Operation Strix,” Part 1; Episode 1
Anya’s absolute obsession with peanuts is a running gag throughout the Spy x Family series. In the first episode of the anime, she introduced herself by saying: “My name is Anya. I love peanuts but hate carrots.” Her preference for snacks comes up again and again throughout the course of the series. In season 1; episode 12, “Penguin Park”, Anya gets into trouble trying to get into Loid’s bedroom and he reprimands her, then cheers her up with peanuts.
This fun fact about Anya comes up again and again. The telepathic girl even suggested using the name “Peanuts” for Bond Forger, the family dog. Anya’s silly personality makes fans laugh every time she appears on the show. The fact that she can seemingly be instantly soothed in any situation by a packet of peanuts is incredibly amusing and makes for one of the funniest scenes in Spy x Family.
9 Anya’s homemade spy war TV episode insults Loid
“Short Mission: 9,” Volume 12; Chapter 68.1
In this chapter, Loid found ways to support Anya in becoming a stronger student at Eden Academy. Her recent failure on an important test prompted him to turn to what he knew Anya would listen to wholeheartedly; TV show Spy Wars. He and his partner, Franky, created a homemade Spy Wars episode, hoping to enhance the young girl’s intelligence through a medium she would enjoy. Unfortunately, the result was a shocking and laughably bad failure, causing Anya to tell Loid that it was “bad”.
This fan-favorite manga chapter has yet to be adapted into an animated series but certainly deserves a spot on this list of funniest scenes. It’s funny because of it showcasing Anya’s hysterical and sometimes blunt personality in the series is very good. This funny moment also shows the humorous efforts Loid makes to help Anya do better in school, a recurring theme in the series.
8 Anya recreates a scene from the spy war
“Will they pass or fail?”,Part 1; Episode 5
In this episode, Anya will play a character from her favorite TV show, Spy Wars. The Forger family was very stressed while waiting for the results of their daughter’s Eden Academy entrance exam but they discovered that She was accepted into a prestigious school. To reward Anya for her hard work, Loid and his partner, Franky, agreed to stage an elaborate recreation of one of her favorite scenes from Spy Wars, her all-time favorite show. .
This scene causes hysteria because Loid, Franky, and Yor all play unusual roles to amuse Anya. They even rented a castle to make the scene more accurate to the movie, providing humor and showing appreciation for the young girl’s success. Drunk Yor Forger stole the show at this moment, he vows to protect Anya from being “kidnapped” in a humorous attack against Loid before promptly losing consciousness. This elaborate production is one of the show’s most enjoyable moments to watch and shows the characters’ recognition of their daughter’s efforts.
7 Yor and Fiona face off in a hilariously intense tennis match
“The Firm Path” Part 1; Episode 23
Fiona Frost is one of Loid’s partners nicknamed the Nightfall agent. She also has a crush on Loid and hopes to steal him from Yor. She finally comes face to face with his wife in this episode and tests her tennis skills, making Anya nervous. What is surprising is that although Fiona excels at tennis, Yor’s devotion to her family drives her and she is the winner of the tennis match. This terrifies and saddens Fiona, who reluctantly accepts her loss.
It’s funny how high-stakes this tennis match has become. Both women seem to use it as a way to vie for a place in Loid’s life rather than a simple game of tennis, a rather hysterical concept. Anya also humorously reads women’s minds and worries Fiona will “steal” Loid if she wins the game, which is also such an absurd idea that it makes this one of the funniest moments of the series.
6 Yor’s brother, Yuuri, asks Loid and Yor to kiss
“The Counter-Secret Police Cover-up Campaign,” Part 1; Episode 8
This episode shows one of the most tense moments the undercover Forger family has encountered, when Yury, Yor’s overprotective brother, arrives at the Forger’s residence. Yuri also happens to be a member of the Secret Police. The pair must convince him of their love for each other or risk blowing everyone’s cover, as Yury’s organization is in direct opposition to Loid’s.
Unfortunately, he didn’t like the couple’s actions and they continued to display increasingly hilarious displays of affection. This moment is one of the most hysterical in the series because Loid and Yor both acted awkwardly hoping to convince Yuuri they are a real couple. When they are forced to kiss, Loid appears calm and collected while Yor is nervous, a hilarious combination that perfectly represents their very different personalities in the series.
5 Yor reveals his scary side when Anya is in danger
“Disarming the Time Bomb” Part 1; Episode 14
Episode 14 was a real show How far is Yor willing to go as a mother to protect her child out of danger. Anya and Bond are being chased by terrorists and Yor intervenes, revealing her true identity as a skilled and powerful assassin. She terrified the Berlint University student terrorists and even, funnily enough, accused Keith Kepler of kidnapping her daughter.
Yor’s loving instincts are both incredibly sweet and a little scary to witness, scaring Anya as she goes into full attack mode to save her. This scene is quite interesting to watch. No one would have expected the sweet and humble Yor to possess such incredible fighting skills, but she does. She released them at this point with a truly humorous result and one of the funniest in the series.
The four “Dawn” spies comically failed in their mission to change test scores
“Private Tutor / Dawn,” Part 1; Episode 18
The shockingly incompetent spy “Daybreak” encounters the talented Loid Forger when they embark on very similar missions to change the test scores of students at Eden Academy. Loid changed Anya’s score to improve it, while Daybreak hoped to give the Desmond brothers their poor score. Daybreak didn’t do his job well and Loid had to do his best to keep the two from getting caught by fixing his sloppy work and giving him an ID to use. The incompetent spy failed, as Loid had to sabotage Daybreak’s mission to further his mission.
Daybreak’s antics are extremely fun to watch, as he tries to become Loid’s rival but fails more miserably at his goal. He almost compromised both of their missions, and Loid’s frustrated outbursts were quite hysterical. The moments when Loid tries to deal with Daybreak’s foolish actions are some of the funniest in the series.
3 Yor is an absolutely terrible cook
“Yor’s Kitchen / The Informant’s Grand Romantic Plan,” Part 1; Episode 16
Another theme that appears quite consistently in Spy x Family is Yor’s poor cooking ability. In this episode, she decides to practice this skill to cook a meal that will impress her family, and she gets lessons from her co-worker, Camilla. In the end, Yor created a delicious dish, but not before her first terrible attempt left Camilla and Dominic collapsing in disgust. Crazy enough, her brother, Yuuri, liked this meal, even though it was terrible.
Yury’s enjoyment of Yor’s terrible food shows his strong love for her, but it’s also quite funny because her food is shown by other characters to be almost inedible. Everyone’s disgusted reactions and Yor’s terrible mistakes in the kitchen made viewers laugh. Thankfully, the stew she serves to Anya and Loid tastes delicious, but her journey to cooking an edible dish is one of the funniest in the series.
2 The Bond Forger is jealous of Agent Penguin
“Twilight; The First Jealousy,” Part 1; Episode 21
The Forger family’s dog named Bond becomes extremely jealous of Anya’s beloved plush penguin. His jealousy grew to the point where he eventually snuck into her room and attacked the stuffed animal, tearing it to pieces. Bond quickly feels remorse for his bad actions, but fortunately, Loid is able to heal Agent Penguin. The dog apologizes to Anya and she forgives him, sealing the apology with a handshake between Bond and Penguin.
This Spy x Family moment is both heartwarming and hilarious, Perfectly represents the fun feeling of the show. It’s funny how Bond feels resentment towards an inanimate object, but certainly shows his love and care for Anya in a very comic style, creating one of the funniest scenes in the series.
1 Anya gives a hilariously misleading report on Loid’s career
“Investigation of the general hospital/Decoding the confusing code” Part 1; Episode 20
For a school project, Anya visited Berlint General Hospital with Loid because she had to learn about careers and create a report containing information about that job path. However, Loid’s spy work and psychiatric work at the hospital become intertwined that day. After seeing this, Anya wrote a laughably incorrect description of a psychiatrist’s profession, which she then shared with her professor and the rest of the class.
This episode is one of the funniest because of it shows Loid’s difficulty living with two different identities. Even if he tries his best to hide his spying profession, Anya’s telepathic abilities make this completely impossible. It was hysterical to see Anya tell the class that her father had attacked his patient at the hospital, which caused her history teacher, Henry Henderson, to become extremely worried. This situation is just one of the interesting misunderstandings about the cause of Loid and one of the funniest Spy x Family moments.
