GX anime left out this important detail and once again uses Shadow Games in his story.
Since both series take place in the same universe, these games shouldn't even be mentioned in any ancient texts, as they were erased by Atem's time. This subject is never explained, and the Shadow Games are considered to be some kind of ancient and evil magic that has existed for centuries, although that's unlikely.

Unfortunately, this encounter was never shown, leaving fans to wonder what happened during the fight.
THe showed signs that Joey was the winner in the duel.as he was later seen using his Red-Eyes in important duels. However, neither Yugi nor Wheeler ever spoke of this duel again, and no other characters seemed to know about it happening. It is a tragedy that this duel between two of the world's best duelists will never be witnessed by the fans.

Season 3 of the GX anime, sees the heroes of the story trapped inside the Duel Monsters World, trying to find their way back home. Throughout their journey, they face many dangerous enemies, such as Brron, the evil king of the Dark World Army. The evil king's goal is to created the ultimate warrior, a being known simply as Colorless.
This monster can only be created by fusing 12 monsters, each of a different level. Before Brron could achieve his goal, Jaden defeated him in a fit of rage as the newly reborn Supreme King after supposedly watching his friends die, which was just another trick of the evil king. An official version of Colorless was released in 2024, although this version did not require the summoning of 12 monsters, implying that it was not the monster Brron attempted to summon in the anime.
2 Atem and Kaiba's Reunion
Will Kaiba achieve his goal?
The Dark Side of Dimensions movie serves as a loving tribute to the original Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters series, giving Yugi and his friends a fitting ending. The movie revolves around Kaiba's determination to bring Atem back from the spirit world and fight him one last time. By the end of the film, Seto has found a way to cross dimensions and meet his opponent in the afterlife.
The movie ended before fans could see what happened. between these two talented fighters, strongly hinting that they will have one last duel. Kaiba seems pleased with the outcome as he has returned to Earth and even helped Yugi develop a new game. However, it is never made clear whether he is pleased because he has finally defeated his opponent or simply because he has the chance to duel Atem one last time.
